My first post to this blog, and I can see writing isn't going to be easy. As I type, Abram is in my lap, holding a bottle to his mouth with his right hand. His left hand is busy grabbing my nose, watermelon-sticky fingers are going into my mouth, and the skin on my neck is being wrung like a wet towel. He is far from that little blob of a baby I was holding a year ago.
What is this blog all about? I want to record (and share)what is going on in our family - especially with Abram - and commit myself to working on my photography skills by sharing photos I have taken.
I was inspired to start this blog when I went to write down a list of the words Abram knows how to use. First, I thought about writing the list on a calendar so I could add to it. A few days later and he was using a new word, but I had no calendar. I was already behind. I decided to write the words on a piece of paper just to get them down, and I was amazed to see that my 14 month old was saying 15 words! The next day, he started another new word. I knew a piece of paper wasn't going to cut it. So, I had to stop "thinking about" writing a blog, and get on it. Here I am... just a few days later :0)
Abram's words at 14.5 months:
- mom
- dada
- dog
- kitty/kittycat/cattykit
- hat

- hi
- ball
- bottle
- bubble
- kick
- uh-oh
- mmm (this counts - it means "yummy", right?)
- teeth (which can mean "toothbrush" or "i want to brush my teeth")
- byebye
- cookie (lucky for me bananas, strawberries, crackers, and pretzels, are all "cookies"
- cheese
- monkey (sounds like "kuh-kee")
And my photo to share is from Friday. Abram playing with his beachball sprinkler for the first time. Photo is not great due to bright sunlight.
