I was trying out my telephoto lens today instead of my usual 50mm prime. Abram obliged to sit in my mock "studio" set up (a few yards of fleece draped over a sofa table and a sheet of plexiglass on the floor). I am not thrilled with the results, so I converted to black and white for Abram's 18 month photo. (He was trying on fall/winter hats.)

I am also trying to work on my photoshop skills. I took a photo of Abram on Labor Day weekend at a block party in Abuela & Grandy's neighborhood:

Then I tried out cloning/healing to get rid of the legs/driveway/grass in the background:

Not horrible, I guess. And here's Abram and his "Dada" at the block party. Yes, we force-feed Abram cake.

I found the Troy Historical Society building... but I didn't pay attention to the lighting and brought Abram there in full sun. Shadows are harsh, but I think Abram looks handsome nonetheless:

I am also working on my backlighting skills... I don't know how to get his face exposed correctly with the sun behind him. I like the hair halo and the hazy effect, but I will have to find time to practice more on getting it just right:

Is anyone still reading this??? Here's what happens when Abram won't sit still:

I am totally losing track of Abram's words... so I don't have a clue on the numbers. Here are a few new ones:
night-night
all done (he has been saying this for a while but he now does the sign with it)
plus he can moo, quack, and eek-eek.
