And, since I mention in the "About Me" that this will occasionally be about crafts... I do have one to share finally. (For only the 3rd? time since January, oops.) I have been on a search for months for a purse that would work as a camera bag. And I have been too cheap to buy any that may have worked for any more than $20 knowing I would have to spend some additional money to make it work for my camera. Target came through for me this week with a clearance bag for $17 with my required zipper closure and a few outer pockets in the right size. I searched for other blogs where people had posted their DIY bags and picked my favorite features to come up with my own. And I am very happy with it for a grand total of $25. (Thank you, Joann Fabric's "coupon commotion".)
Here is the bag. Went with boring brown this time, but if I find something in a fun color, I know this is easy enough to do with a more "adventurous" bag.

Here is the inside. My camera with a lens attached fits easily in that spot on the left.

And here is the whole insert I created/sewed:

And the parts all laid out flat:

I made a tri-fold insert that I can easily remove along with three dividers and one long piece I'm going to call a "lens-hugger" to wrap around and protect a single lens. I still plan to add one more piece that will be some kind of platform b/c my lenses are pretty short and I could have two layers of equipment in my bag if I had a way to divide them. Maybe next week. Or maybe next week the temp will be lower than 100 and I will be outside enjoying my summer!

I really like that fabric a lot! Very pretty.
Love sleeping pictures! And you've made a DIY camera bag seem doable for a non-crafty person like myself!
I love your DIY camera bag!
I love your DIY bag. You picked really pretty fabric and I really like how you made your inserts. Sleeping babies are precious.
Seriously, that is awesome! Way better than your typical off-the-shelf camera purse since you can take out the dividers and use the purse like normal. The customized dividers are fantastic. I love the fabric too!
I love your bag. Great job. And the sleeping photo is so sweet.
